LYRICS

I’ve seen you, in the valley
And I’ve held you in the sunshine
When your hair falls down, and my feet are on the ground
I’m not breathing. I’m just holding on to hope
That you might be there.
That you could still be there.

I’ve seen you, it was down town
And I’ve held you in the dust cloud
I’m still dizzy. From when you put me on the ground.
I won’t breath anymore, I’m so lost if there’s no more
I reach for you there
You could still be there

There can’t be any fighting anymore
There can’t be only friends
The broken visions line all the shores
We can be still there
We can be still there

I’ve seen you in the wet sand
And I’ve held you, alone on the empty beach
I’m still dizzy, from when we wound up on the floor
I won’t breath, if you won’t breath

LYRICS

I don’t want to live my life this
way if it's all the same to you.
I’ll spend one more night with what
I know about myself and then I’m gone

I won’t be the one who’s fatherless
I have not been betrayed by a kiss.
This is not the road I miss I’m gone, I’m gone

I don’t want to live a lie today
if it's all the same to you.
I’ll spend one more day with what I know
about myself and then I’m gone

I won’t be the one who’s fatherless
I have not been betrayed by a kiss.
This is not the road I miss I’m gone.
I’m gone.

You don’t bring me hope
you only give me promises.
The one thing I truly miss is love

It's Love

I don’t want to live alone today
if it's all the same to you.
Guilt hits me like a slap in the
face and I’m wrong I know I’m wrong

I won’t be the one who’s fatherless
I have not been betrayed by a kiss
This is not the road I miss
I’m gone...oh I’m gone

You don’t bring me hope
you only give me promises.
The one thing I truly miss is love

It's Love. It's Love. It's Love.

I won’t be the one who’s fatherless
I have not been betrayed by a kiss
This is not the road I miss I’m gone
I’m gone

LYRICS

It's snow again
Every time I look out I feel the same
I miss my only friend
On whom I could depend
To tell me that the snow is rain
Every time I look out I feel the same
There always will be pain
They’d always let me know
That the rain is snow
Every time I look out, I’m blinded so
There always will be pain
I close my eyes and then
It's snow again.

The very infancy of "Not So Many Edges" was as follows - Prince died.

Unlike all the posers I am a Prince fan. So the week after he died I watched Purple Rain (I miss Prince).

*SPOILER ALERT*

There is a scene after his father commits suicide where Prince loses his cool in his parents' basement and lashes out by destroying everything. While doing that he upsets a trunk filled with his father's music. It's all music his father had written and had never played for anyone. It rang true to me for a moment as I realized that if I died my children would find bits of my songs and have no idea what I meant for my music to sound like. I didn't want that to happen.

Next, Tyler McGuire posted that he had some studio time available at his Pogo Recording Studio, so I took the serendipitous offer and figured I would slap some stuff down very quickly and answer that calling. I shared it with a few confidants and unanimously everyone wanted to hear more. One of those confidants was Matt who I worked with in high school. We were friends and musicians and he has his own company now mixing and mastering. Serendipitous indeed!

I should have actually began by thanking my wife Chris for really telling me to get it started. It wasn't until she said to start recording the songs that I really considered doing it at all. Almost every song that I have ever written has started off as a love song to my wife. At some point I change the words and it becomes about something else but the spark of my creativity for the last 26 years (friends for a year, dated for a year, engaged for a year and then 23 years of marriage) has been Chris.
